CUSD Elementary Open Enrollment Application 2026-27

EARLY ENTRANCE INTO KINDERGARTEN STATEMENT

For your child to be considered for Early Entrance into Kindergarten, their 5th birthday must be between September 1-December 31, 2026. Your child will need an assessment to determine if they qualify for acceptance into kindergarten. Register online starting November 10, 2025 at www.CUSDcommunity.com to sign up for the Kindergarten Readiness Test. For additional questions, contact the Assessment office at 480-812-7674.

SUSPENSION/EXPELLED STATEMENT

If your student has ever been suspended or expelled, is currently suspended or expelled or in the process of being suspended or expelled, please ensure the Discipline Report is provided to the CUSD. Information on how to upload the documents will be available AFTER submitting your application. Look for this information in your email confirmation of your responses or the Open Enrollment Document Upload Information email. If the document is not received, your application cannot be processed.

HOME SCHOOL STATEMENT

If your student is currently homeschooled and previously attended a school where their academic profile was recorded, those documents will need to be provided. If approved, your student will be assessed to determine academic abilities, per Board Policy.

NON-ENROLLED STUDENT ACADEMIC PROFILE STATEMENT

The Academic Profile (attendance, discipline, and grades) Documents from the previous school year (2024-25) and the current school year (2025-26) are required for non-enrolled students. Information on how to upload the documents will be available AFTER submitting your application. Look for this information in your email confirmation of your responses and the Open Enrollment Document Upload Information email. If the documents are not received, your application cannot be processed.

Entering Kindergarten Note: If you are applying November 10, 2025-September 2026, no documents are required for entering kindergarten students.

Please understand CUSD does not request student records for Open Enrollment purposes. It is the Parent/Legal Guardian's responsibility to provide the required documents for a non-enrolled CUSD student.

ANDERSEN K-5 STATEMENT

Andersen Elementary doesn't have 6th grade students. Open Enrollment/Boundary Exemption Applications for 6th grade must be completed on the Secondary Open Enrollment Application, requesting Andersen Junior High. The Secondary Open Enrollment Application can be found by clicking here.

CTA FREEDOM DLI WRONG GRADE LEVEL STATEMENT

The grade level you selected is not available for the Dual Lanaguage Immersion Spanish program at CTA Freedom Campus. CTA Freedom only offers Kindergarten-4th grade Spanish Immersion. Please select a different school before moving to the next page.

DUAL LANGUAGE IMMERSION STATEMENT

In case your Dual Language Immersion (DLI) School Choice is at capacity (no seat available), you have the option to select the same school as a non-DLI School Choice. The application will remain on the capacity waitlist, with the time and date stamp of when it was received. If a seat becomes available with your requested DLI program, you will receive new approval email for the DLI program with your next steps for registration/transfer.

ELITE PERFORMANCE ACADEMY GRADE LEVEL STATEMENT

You selected a grade level that is not offered at the Elite Performance Academy. The Elite Performance Academy only offers 3rd-8th grade instruction. Please select a different school.

SANTAN (K-6TH) STATEMENT

Santan Elementary (Kindergarten-6th) and Santan Junior High (7th & 8th) are two different schools that have two different bell schedules, even though they share the same property.

GIFTED GRADE LEVEL STATEMENT

You selected a school that does not offer Kindergarten-4th grade Gifted instruction. Please select either Knox Gifted Academy or Weinberg Gifted Academy before you move to the next page.

GIFTED TEST SCORES STATEMENT

You indicated your student does not have Gifted Test scores on file with Chandler Unified School District. Information on how to upload the Gifted Test scores from another school district or private tester will be available AFTER submitting your application. Look for this information in your email confirmation of your responses and the Open Enrollment Document Upload Information email. If the Gifted test scores are not received, your application cannot be processed.

IEP STATEMENT

You indicated your student's IEP is not on file with Chandler Unified School District. Information on how to upload your student's full IEP and evaluation report will be available AFTER submitting your application. Look for this information in your email confirmation of your responses and the Open Enrollment Document Upload Information email. If the full IEP and evaluation report is not received, your application cannot be processed.
